Off the boat this morning on the tenders again, the boat was too big to go under a bridge to get to the docks. There were buses waiting for us to take us into Edinburgh for £6 each - we are running low on pounds. Good thing we had enough. Lol. Robert was smart enough to ask our bus driver about our stop for our tour- Usher Hall and he let us off quite close. As we waited for Stewart, our guide, we met the other couples - very nice couple our age from Washington state, older couple from Minnesota (reminded me of mom and dad), couple from Toronto, and last couple from Israel.
The walking tour was good, our guide had to be 70 if he was a day! But he was quite knowledgeable. We saw sites off the beaten path....and learned the origin of "Georgie, Georgie, puddin pie" lol. Ask me about that!!
Had a coffee/tea break with the group... interesting place, but Robert and I weren't interested in the snack, so we had to wait for the group. On we went and Robert was able to find the Scotch he was looking for! Lol. Little side trip!
It was nice to recognize places we had been in the week we were here before the cruise.
Once the tour finished at 1:30 Robert and I found a little pub for lunch and wifi!! Nice to have a chat with Kate!!!!!
Found the bus stop, and back on the bus to the ship! We found a few last souvenirs which was great!! We must have had a new tender captain, he had a heck of a time lining up the tender to the cruise ship...took a few tries and one hard bang against the side of the ship! Ouch!! He got applause when he finally made it!!
A little relaxing before supper, which was probably our least favorite of the trip! But can't be great all the time!!
